Our goal is to become an archive & distributor of free literature related to; Solar-Punk, Mutual Aid, & Cultural History.
Our second goal is to help establish a Little Free Resource Hub in every U.S. state.
Our Story & Philosophy
Sunflower Distro began in 2023 as a housing co-op fundraiser for marginalized communities. Today, we operate as a mutual aid network and grassroots distro that puts tools directly into the hands of our neighbors.
Reject nihilism, embrace hopecore: The problems in our world can be solved. It is our job to solve them as ethically and respectfully as possible. We refuse to demonize any group of people, focusing instead on the systems that shape them and exploring how we can transform these systems to improve life for all.
Everyone has a purpose: We want to create a society that appreciates diverse interests and skills. Everyone has something valuable to contribute, regardless of whether it brings them profit. Fostering and mastering the individual skills we have not only empowers the individual but also empowers the people within their orbit.
Tech & Nature Should Co-exist: We believe in a Solar-Punk future! Rejecting technology hinders growth and rejecting nature limits wisdom. Though technology has been used to damage the planet, it can just as easily be used to restore it.
Knowledge Should Be Free to Access: Whether it is media, literature, or foundational education, we believe shared knowledge is a basic right that should be embraced and exercised freely.

Why Sunflowers?
They always face the sun, following warmth, light and growth even when times are difficult.
They bridge the gap between cultures. Many cultures all around the world revere the Sunflower for its beauty and usefulness. They have also been used as symbols for political campaigns, such as: Hidden Disability Awareness, Multiple anti-occupational campaigns, and Environmental Activism.
They are multi-use. They help absorb radiation and toxins, they are edible in their seeds, tubers and petals, they help our pollinators, and they are beautiful. We love everything about the Sunflower!
